Nexter Systems strengthens its participation to European Defence Fund projects

Nexter, société du groupe KNDS, participe à trois nouveaux projets financés par la Commission Européenne dans le cadre du Programme Européen de Développement Industriel de Défense (PEDID) sur l’artillerie et les véhicules blindés du futur, qui ont été lancés en décembre 2021. Le PEDID prépare le Fonds Européen de Défense (FED) destiné à soutenir la R&D de défense et à renforcer la coopération et la compétitivité industrielle.

Nexter, au travers de sa branche munitionnaire Nexter Arrowtech, dirige le consortium européen FIRES (Future Indirect fiRes European Solution), impliquant également ses filiales MECAR et SIMMEL, préparant la future génération de munitions d’artillerie de précision de 155 mm et de roquettes. Nexter Systems participe également au consortium E-COLORSS (European COmmon LOng Range indirect fire Support System) visant la future génération de systèmes d’artillerie et canon 155mm et de lance-roquettes, avec leurs porteurs, dispositifs de rechargement et de contrôle-commande.

Enfin, Nexter Systems et ses filiales Nexter Robotics, OPTSYS et NBC SYS, ainsi que KMW une autre société de KNDS, sont impliqués dans le projet FAMOUS (European Future Highly Mobile Augmented Armoured Systems) relatif aux véhicules blindés du futur.

L’implication de Nexter dans ces projets témoigne de la volonté du groupe de continuer de contribuer activement à la coopération européenne, ce dans la perspective des phases de développement ultérieures dans le cadre du Fonds Européen de Défense qui a débuté en 2021.

Uniform brand identity: Land defence group KNDS completes the legal renaming of its Group companies

KNDS, a leading European manufacturer of military land systems based in Amsterdam, has formally renamed its Group companies Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG and Nexter Systems S. A. with effect from 8 April 2024. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG now operates as KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, Nexter Systems S. A. as KNDS France S. A..
